And Abraham laughed....

In our "read the bible in a year" project, today we read the story of Abram's name change to Abraham. At that moment God tells Abraham that he will father a child, at the ripe old age of 99. Scripture records his reaction..."Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed.."

Every time I read this it makes me smile. How many times has God called me to do something that my first reaction is, "Say what?? You want me to do what?"

Clearly God calls us to go where He can do great work through us, to take on missions that He can provide the resources and the grace.

I find comfort in knowing that God has a wonderful sense of humor, and that there is no challenge bigger than our Creator....just a thought...
